San Marcos Students Receive Scholarships
Board member Liz Vasek-Kane of the Donegan Burns Foundation was greeted by scholarship recipients as well as California State University San Marcos staff when she presented scholarship checks to Director of Financial Aid, Vonda Garcia.
The three students who were given scholarships are:
Carolyn Proskow from San Marcos is a psych major and wants to go into forensic sand readily admitted that NCIS was influential in her choice. Her brother and sister are graduates of CSUSM and are working in the San Diego area. She works at Brookfield assisted care part time and rides the Sprinter to school. She will be a sophomore next semester school achievement so far because of her AP classes from high school.
Ashley Crayton lives in Murrieta and commutes daily to the CSUSM Nursing School. The highly rated school has a 5 year program and Ashley want to be a L & D (Labor & Delivery nurse) or a peeds nurse (pediatrics) . She volunteers at the Loma Linda Emergency Room in Murrieta and also has a part time job.
Nathan Lovell, another new freshman is from Los Angeles and lives in the campus dorms and is quite a cook as his room is equipped with a kitchen. He is a business major whose favorite subject is macro economics and who eventually wants to become a Senator. He’s fallen in love with the campus and the San Marcos weather.
The students and staff expressed appreciation to the Donegan Burns Foundation for the financial aid.
